Bentonite clay is a versatile natural clay mineral, primarily composed of montmorillonite. It boasts an impressive array of properties, including excellent cohesiveness, expansibility, adsorption capacity, plasticity, dispersion, lubricity, and cation exchange abilities. When treated with other bases, particularly lithium base, its suspension property becomes exceptionally strong. Furthermore, acidification enhances its decolorizing capabilities. Due to these attributes, bentonite clay can be formulated into a wide range of products, such as bonding agents, suspending agents, adsorbents, decolorizing agents, plasticizers, catalysts, cleaning agents, disinfectants, thickening agents, detergents, washing agents, fillers, and strengthening agents, among others.

Product Application

Bentonite can serve as a partial substitute for titanium dioxide in water-based latex coatings, enhancing their properties. It functions as a reinforcing agent in rubber and special cables, as well as a functional filler in industrial plastics. As a purifyingagent, bentonite acts as a fabric softener and effectively absorbs oil and other impurities. Its high whiteness makes it an ideal raw material for high-grade porcelain and special ceramics, where its helical and expandable properties provide plasticity to ceramic ash paste, increasing its strength and stabilizing the water paste colloid. In ceramic glazes, bentonite acts as a plasticizing and thickening agent, boosting both strength and plasticity in the glaze support, and enhancing overall quality.
