Sodium Metabisulfite is available in both Industrial Grade (93%-96%) and Food Grade (96%-98%).

It exists as a white or yellow crystalline powder or small crystals, characterized by a strong SO2 odor. Soluble in water, its aqueous solution is acidic, and upon contact with strong acids, it releases SO2 to form corresponding salts. Prolonged exposure to air oxidizes it to Sodium Sulfate (Na2S2O6). Therefore, it is not recommended for long-term storage.
