Ferrocene is a metal organic compound. Under ordinary temperature, it is a kind of orange powder with camphor smell. The melting point is 172-174ºC and the boiling point is 249ºC. It is insoluble in water, but easily soluble in benzene, ethyl ethe r, gaso line,diesel oil and other organic solvents. It can't react with acid, alkali and ultraviolet. Chemically it is stable, and decomposes at 400ºC.
