Holmium Oxide

Color and appearance: Holmium oxide is a pale yellow powder with a high refractive index that gives it a distinctive luster under light. Density: The theoretical density is 7.47g/cm³, and the actual density is usually between 7.3 and 7.5g/cm³. Hardness: The Mohs hardness is about 7-8, indicating that it has high hardness and wear resistance. Thermal stability: Holmium oxide powder is stable at room temperature, but decomposition occurs at high temperatures. Its melting point is high, about 2600ºC.
Holmium oxide is stable at room temperature and pressure and does not react with water. However, at high temperatures or when reacting with other substances, decomposition or reaction with other elements will occur.

Application

Holmium Oxide price is used as an additives for metal halide lamp additives, ferroniobium or yttrium aluminum garnet, fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers, fiber optic sensors.
Holmium oxide is usually obtained as a by-product of processing rare earth elements (especially holmium).
