White light powder, insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol, benzene and other non-polar solvents, decomposes into stearic acid and corresponding barium salts when encountering strong acids. When heated and dissolved in organic solvents and cooled, it forms a gel and has water absorption properties in air.

Used as high-temperature resistant lubricant for machinery and high-temperature resistant powder for rubber products. As a stabilizer and lubricant for polyvinyl chloride, this product has good long-term heat resistance among all alkaline earth metal stearates. Mainly used for soft transparent films, thin sheets, synthetic leather, as well as hard boards, pipes, etc. It can also be used as a high-temperature release agent and a high-temperature lubricant for mechanical applications.
