Calcium stearate is an organic compound, the molecular formula is C36H70CaO4, white powder, insoluble in water, can be used as water repellent agent, lubricant and plastic additives.

 

Application
As a heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride and a variety of plastic processing lubricants, release agents, etc. In hard products, the gelation rate can be improved by combining with basic lead salt and lead soap. Also used in food packaging, medical equipment and other requirements of non-toxic soft film and equipment. It can also be used as a halogen absorber for polyethylene and polypropylene to eliminate the adverse effects of residual catalysts on color and stability. As a plasticizer in rubber processing, it can soften natural rubber and all-formed rubber, and it has almost no effect on vulcanization. It is also used as a lubricant for polyolefin fibers and molding plastics, a thickening agent for greases, a waterproofing agent for textiles, a smoothing agent for paints, and a plasticizer for the manufacture of plastic records. As halogen absorbent in polyethylene and polypropylene; Lubricants and release agents for phenolic, amino and other thermosetting plastics; Thickening agent for grease; Waterproof agent for waterproof fabric; Varnish and pencil lead lubricants, etc. Food grade calcium stearate is used as an anti-caking agent.
